I booked my ticket to NYC! June 1-3rd. So short, but I can't miss too many days of work.
Dave Clemmons Casting is running the auditions, so I grabbed the break down from their website. I'd REALLY love to play Elle but of course I'd accept anything.

BROOKE Female, to play late 20s – early 30s, any ethnicity. Gorgeous and self-assured, creator of her own fitness empire with the body to show for it. Bit of an edge & calls it like she sees it. AMAZING BODY, sharp comic skills and a strong singing voice.
MARGOT Female, to play early 20s, Caucasian. Sorority sister, one of Elle Woods’ best friends. 1/3 of the trio of sorority girls who guide Elle through her journey and comment on the action as a “Greek” chorus. Fun, enthusiastic, not the brightest but sweet. Needs sharp comic skills, a strong singing voice, and dancing ability.
PILAR Female, to play early 20s, non-Caucasian (African-American, Latina, Asian, etc.). Sorority sister and one of Elle Woods’ best friends. 1/3 of the trio of sorority girls who guide Elle through her journey and comment on the action as a “Greek” chorus. Beyonce wanna-be. Adorable, energetic, and sassy, with a great physique. Strong singing voice, sharp comic skills, and dancing ability.
SERENA Female, to play early 20s, Caucasian. Sorority sister and one of Elle Woods’ best friends. 1/3 of the trio of sorority girls who guide Elle through her journey and comment on the action as a “Greek” chorus. She will do anything for her sisters. A leader. Adorable and energetic, with a great physique. Strong high belt singing voice, sharp comic skills, and dancing ability.
KATE/CHUTNEY Female, to play 20s, Caucasian. KATE: The bookworm sorority girl. CHUTNEY: The fashion-challenged daughter of the victim in Brooke’s trial. Sharp comic skills and a strong singing voice.
SALES MANAGER/JUDGE Female, late 20s-early 30s, African-American. SALES MANAGER: Stylish and fabulous. JUDGE: Tough, no-nonsense, takes zero crap. Sharp comic skills, a strong belt singing voice, and dancing ability.
FEMALE DANCERS 20s – early 30s, all ethnicities. Trained, athletic dancers who sing well. Should be Abercrombie & Fitch/sorority types. Must have jump-roping ability. To play a variety of roles in the ensemble (Sorority Members, Harvard Students, Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Inmates, Salespeople, etc.) and possibly understudy principal roles.
Please be warmed up and prepared to dance with athletic sneakers and form fitting dance clothes appropriate to the style of the show (Southern California/Abercrombie & Fitch) at the appointed time. Please prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo pop belt song with sheet music in the correct key, in case you are called back to sing. Bring your book in case you are asked for an additional selection. Bring headshot/resume stapled together.
They say that we should wear dance sneakers but my dancing is definitely NOT as good as when I wear character shoes or ballet slippers. Plus, the outfits I can wear with dance sneakers is VERY limited and I don't particuarly like the choices. Do you think they are REALLY ganna care if I show up in something other than dance sneakers? Do you think they'd see it as a "she can't follow directions, let's not cast her" thing??
